Reconstruction of Záložna in Velvary
We breathed new life into the dance hall attached to the Záložny building in Velvary. The building in the square, which served as a hotel during the period of the First Republic, has been gradually changing owners and uses and has now undergone a sensitive reconstruction.
We started the renovation in a large multi-purpose hall, which was added to the hotel in the square in the 1930s. However, because it had not been in use for a long time, the lack of care had a noticeable effect on it, and it was in poor technical condition. Instead of apartments, we built two clubhouses on the second floor.
Although the extension is not listed, we consulted conservationists throughout the reconstruction and tried to preserve as many authentic details as possible. We restored the original plaster, and we chose at least a very similar structure where this was no longer possible. We also preserved the original color.
The existing wooden windows had to be replaced due to their poor condition. We used this to restore part of the window openings to their original size and proportions.
We also tried to preserve the interior as much as possible. Visitors will find a staircase made of artificial stone with oak handrails, paneled doors, and lamps in original shapes.
